We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team at the Rideaucrest Home in Kingston, Ontario. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality resident-centered care and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, up to 5 months, to provide full-time coverage pending candidate availability. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating resident care plans, providing direct comprehensive care to residents with specialized needs, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments integrating resident perspectives, staff insights, and nursing theory to inform care planning;
  • Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions, collaborating with physicians as needed;
  • Lead the development of integrated strategies for illness prevention, health promotion, and restorative care;
  • Prescribe medications and perform controlled acts within the NP scope of practice;
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems;
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to formulate care plans and promote effective communication;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree and a Post-graduate Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate;
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class;
  • Recent general nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care setting;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Gerontological knowledge and expertise, with a focus on special care needs;
Estimated Salary: $83,000 - $108,000 per year
