About the Role

Medicine Hat College is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Specialist to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing regular and scheduled maintenance on coil and fracturing equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed in the field using hand and power tools
  • Installation and configuration of electronic and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components
  • Travel to locations to perform emergency repairs on electronics and equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic problems and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions
  • Document repairs, inspections, and testing for all equipment
  • Maintains a safe work environment always following all Occupational Health & Safety requirements
  • Mentor and train less experienced Electronic Technicians
  • Perform other related duties as requested

Requirements

  • Experience in the Energy Sector an asset
  • Must live around the Medicine Hat area or be willing to relocate
  • Basic IP Network Knowledge
  • Various 4-20ma and Frequency Sensor Knowledge
  • PLC System and Control Knowledge
  • Must be able to work independently, manage time efficiently and be self-motivated
  • Willing/able to travel out of town for work
  • Be prepared to work extra hours if required and work in all weather conditions
  • Have clean class 5 drivers abstract
  • Pass a pre-employment test
