About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at A S Construction Ltd. as a Construction Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: The Carpenter will measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: The successful candidate will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to meet the highest standards of construction.
  • Fitting and Installing Fixtures: The Carpenter will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a seamless and professional finish.
  • Maintenance and Repair: The successful candidate will maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and handle heavy loads, making it a physically demanding position.
  • Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
  • Education: The successful candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: The Carpenter will have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
  • Language: The successful candidate will be fluent in English.
  • Work Schedule: The role requires a 35 to 40 hour workweek.
