About the Role

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. is seeking a Labor Relations Student to join our team in Richmond, British Columbia. As a Labor Relations Student, you will play a key role in supporting our workforce and contributing to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with recruitment processes for available job opportunities, ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process.
  • Review technical qualifications with various provincial apprenticeship boards and other certificate issuing authorities, ensuring compliance with labor standards.
  • Support employee matters involving unionized workforce, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Verify data in collective agreements and associated documents prior to publication, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate safety training for new hires as per job requirements, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Work with the team to understand labor standard requirements for workers on site, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulations.
  • Assist with various department administration tasks as needed, providing support to the team.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major, preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, essential for success in this role.
  • Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook), required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments, a must.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, a key requirement for this position.
