Job SummaryAGS Automotive Systems is a leading provider of complex automotive metal components, specializing in front and rear impact assemblies for the heavy truck market.
We are seeking a skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team and contribute to the manufacture and supply of high-quality products to our customers, including several of North America's largest automakers.
Responsibilities- Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Perform duties in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements for a safe working environment.
- Communicate Effectively: Give and receive oral and written instructions, read technical literature and manufacturer's specifications, and write maintenance and job reports to company requirements.
- Operate and Maintain Equipment: Read drawings and schematics, interpret manufacturer's manuals, specifications, and drawing symbols, and use hand and power tools.
- Set Up and Use Machines: Set up and use machines tools, and use and care of precision measuring equipment.
- Select and Use Materials: Select and use materials and fasteners, and select and apply lubricants and greases for specific applications.
- Assemble and Dismantle Scaffolds: Assemble, erect, locate, and dismantle scaffolds, lifting devices, and elevating platforms.
- Plan and Perform Lifts: Plan lifts, perform calculations using load charts, select and use correct rigging/hoisting equipment, inspect and maintain rigging/hoisting equipment, and use hand and radio signals.
- Install and Maintain Systems: Install and maintain material handling systems, power transmission systems, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic pumps, prime movers, and machinery.
- Operate Welding Equipment: Set up and operate welding equipment, and identify and apply bearing materials, fits, and tolerances.
- Install and Maintain Systems: Install single and multi-stage fan and blower systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete other duties as assigned.
- Education: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Trade Knowledge: Completion of academic standards prescribed by the regulations for the trade will be considered an asset.
- Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing facility is an asset.
- Skills: Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to meet all physical demands of the job.
