Housekeeping Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Canada's Best Value Inn. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture, make beds, and change sheets.
  • Housekeeping: Distribute clean towels and toiletries, stock linen closets, handle and report lost and found items, and attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items.
  • Light Housekeeping and Cleaning Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, clean changing rooms and showers.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Does not require Canadian work experience.
Support for Youths:
  • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
