Job Title: Elementary Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team at Kitasoo Community School. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them grow into confident and capable individuals.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a literacy- and numeracy-rich classroom community, promoting rigour, and teaching a range of courses in elementary grades. You will also be expected to create a positive, structured, and safe learning environment for students, be nurturing and patient, and incorporate social emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create engaging units and implement the re-designed BC Curriculum
  • Differentiate instruction and assess student learning
  • Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
  • Work with colleagues as part of a collaborative team
  • Implement and support students in outdoor, place-based lessons in the Great Bear Rainforest
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,692 per annum, based upon education and experience, as well as medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance benefits plans. A pension is also available, and moving expenses are provided. A well-appointed teacherage accommodation is available for a minimal monthly cost, with utilities included except for internet.
