Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Lead Software Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of large, complex applications, and ensuring they meet security standards defined by the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop software following sound software engineering principles
  • Lead investigations for production issues and come up with solutions that meet security standards
  • Provide production support and handle escalation during the day and off-hours
  • Interface with Scotiabank infrastructure and application teams
  • Lead root cause analysis to identify improvements and drive to implementation
  • Develop operational plans, processes, and procedures to improve service delivery and resiliency
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in developing and supporting large, complex applications
  • Strong Java programming skills with Spring Boot and JMS
  • Through knowledge of micro-service architecture
  • Experience in developing SOAP/REST web services
  • Unit testing experience for Java-based applications
  • Proficiency with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills
  • Sound DBMS knowledge and understanding of network topologies and common network protocols
