Work Setting

As a Carpenter with our company, you will be working in the construction industry, with a focus on building and maintaining structures. You will be responsible for:

  • Reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Instructing apprentices
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

As a Carpenter, you will be required to work in a variety of physical conditions, including:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Large workload
  • Physically demanding work
  • Tight deadlines
  • Work with minimal supervision
Own Tools/Equipment

You will be required to provide your own safety equipment and gear, including:
