Job Title: Learning Assistance Resource Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Assistance Resource Teacher to join our team at School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, developing and implementing personalized learning plans
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver instructional programs that meet the diverse needs of students
  • Assist with classroom management and organization, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and services
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education
Requirements:
  • Special Education Part One and Two Certificate through Queens, or equivalent
  • Diploma or Master's degree in Special Education
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including students, parents, and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
