Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on the night shift, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Engage and motivate team members to achieve their full potential, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the work of unionized employees, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Act as a resource person for all employees, providing guidance and support to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Promote safe work practices, conducting safety audits and participating in company safety meetings.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
  • Investigate and resolve customer or shipper complaints, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve safety procedures.
  • Participate in the disciplinary process or the settlement of grievances.
Requirements:
  • Valid Restricted and Non-Restricted Federal Firearms License (PAL: Possession and Acquisitions License)
  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience in a unionized environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Possession of a firearm license (an asset) or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, and judgment skills
  • Strong focus on teamwork and partnership
  • Sense of urgency, exceptional communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking and active listening skills
