Senior Precision Machinist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Precision Machinist to join our team at MGR Workforce in Richmond, BC. The ideal candidate will operate various manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications and drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Machining Operations: Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools to fabricate components from metal and other materials.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand specifications and tolerances.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions to ensure efficient operation.
- Work Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time logs, quantities produced, and any issues encountered.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet production goals and timelines.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
- A strong understanding of machining principles and metallurgy.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
About the Position:
The position may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and various manufacturing environments. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated salary of $30-$40 per hour, based on experience. This includes benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
