We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Smitty's Family Restaurant and Lounge. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary of $45,000 per year.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your duties will include:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
  • Packing and storing food supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards.
  • Receiving and unpacking deliveries of food and supplies.
  • Removing garbage and trash from the kitchen area.

You will also be assisting our chefs and cooks in preparing and serving meals to our customers. This may include tasks such as washing and peeling vegetables, cutting fruits and meats, and portioning out ingredients for dishes.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and be physically fit enough to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and be willing to train on the job. You will also need to be available to work 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

As a Kitchen Assistant at Smitty's Family Restaurant and Lounge, you can expect to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. However, you will also have the opportunity to work as part of a close-knit team and contribute to the success of our restaurant.
