Lead Complex System Design and Integration

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineering Director to lead our Systems Engineering team in designing and integrating complex systems at Intelcom Express Inc. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations department to promote automation by developing, testing, and integrating automated machinery, robotics, and computer-controlled mechanical systems across our network.
  • Develop a strategy and roadmap for the Systems Engineering team that aligns with business goals by balancing quality, time, and budget.
  • Partner with senior leadership to represent the Systems Engineering team across the organization.
  • Oversee the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development and product management, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of systems.
  • Prioritize work and oversee the successful execution of the Systems Engineering team on projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues in system design and implementation.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Systems Engineering team and the broader organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in systems engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Promote the standardization of the Systems Engineering discipline at Intelcom Express Inc.
  • Lead the Systems Engineering team in establishing and executing operational policies that promote agility and scalability.
  • Lead efforts in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Systems Engineering team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to leverage third-party technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (software, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience and a track record of success in managing teams and executing technological projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams in the development of complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated team leadership: effective team management skills/mentorship skills; ability to rally the team/organization around an exciting vision; relentless drive and ability to take initiatives to try new ideas and solve complex business problems.
  • Business acumen mindset, awareness within and outside the business, and ability to develop growth strategies for the Systems Engineering team and for the organization.
  • Experience working with multi-discipline cross-functional teams, utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in conducting R&D activities.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and technical project execution.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, Intelcom Express Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
