Job Title: Postal Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Postal Clerk. As a key member of our mail operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing mail and packages, and maintaining a high level of postal products and services knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process mail and packages, including sorting, sequencing, and batching.
  • Maintain a high level of postal products and services knowledge, including rates, services, and promotions.
  • Operate a computer point of sale system, processing financial transactions and managing inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as required, including maintaining floor displays and conducting merchandizing and inventory control.

Requirements:

  • Experience in customer service in a retail environment.
  • Sales experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in a production environment is an asset.

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary on-call position, requiring flexibility and a willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to stand for up to 3.5 hours at a time and exercise physical effort in the handling of mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs) and carrying mail items weighing up to 15.9 kilograms (35 lbs).
