As a Manager, Software Development, Front-End, you will be responsible for translating business objectives into clear team and individual objectives, collaborating closely with the design system and strategy team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating in prioritizing necessary actions for the constant evolution of the ecosystem.
  • Building strong relationships with all product development teams to adapt solutions to their needs and promote front-end development best practices.
  • Developing and monitoring the progress of the design system and sharing feedback with the team.
  • Developing productive and engaged teams, promoting the development of personal and technical skills.
  • Mentoring team members regarding their career development.
  • Acting as the primary technical contact with other technology teams.
  • Working with the team to determine technical feasibility and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality product possible for the customer.
  • Identifying opportunities to reuse and optimize code components and the design system.
  • Defining and implementing tools and processes supporting the production of digital products.
  • Collaborating with other managers to ensure all initiatives are considered and utilizing system tools to the best of their ability.
  • Actively working to implement strategies to eliminate inefficient or unnecessary processes, while mitigating risk.
  • Evolving front-end development practices, tools, and processes to increase autonomy and efficiency of teams and ensure they can meet digital leadership objectives.

Requirements include:

  • A bachelor's degree in technology/software engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in front-end development team management.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Solid experience delivering products in Agile/Scrum mode.
  • An excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle on various platforms (iOS, Android, React, and Angular).
  • An exceptional understanding of the following concepts and technologies: HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Java, Kotlin, Swift, REST Architecture, Microservices, JSON, and Git.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required, however, must be eligible to work in Canada.
