Key Responsibilities- Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in plant equipment;
- Repair or replace defective parts as needed;
- Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up using machining tools;
- Estimate costs and materials for repairs and maintenance projects;
- Perform routine maintenance work on plant equipment;
- Operate various types of machinery and equipment safely and efficiently;
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
- A Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience;
- Experience working with electrical and electronic controls, lathes, power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools;
- Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment operations, maintenance, and repair;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
The Plant Equipment Technician will work in a manufacturing setting, installing, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment. This will involve working at heights, handling heavy loads, and exposure to dust and other environmental hazards. A high level of physical fitness is required for this role.
