Senior Accounting Manager

The Arcticom Group, a leading provider of commercial and industrial mechanical services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager to join their team in Aldergrove, BC. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing the accounting functions associated with general ledger and sub-ledger maintenance, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and transactional analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the monthly financial reporting package, including GL account reconciliations and month-end close journal entries.
  • Provide explanations to management regarding results, including revenue actuals and projections, margins on installation and service jobs, and operating costs.
  • Partner with operations to review active construction jobs and service contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition based on the percentage of completion method.
  • Manage the collection process and work with operations to ensure the company remains in a cash-positive position.
  • Ensure sales tax returns are prepared and filed in the proper jurisdictions.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll and monthly union reporting.
  • Oversee the accounting team (A/R, A/P).
  • Work on special accounting projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • US GAAP/IFRS experience.
  • Financial statement consolidation experience ($60MM+ in revenue).
  • Experience with Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
  • Intercompany experience.
  • International experience, understanding of cross-border transactions.
  • Experience in leading audit and tax engagements from client-side perspective.
  • Expert Excel skills.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 CAN
