We are seeking a highly skilled Automation and Controls Expert to join our team at Tolko Industries Ltd.
About the RoleThis 12-month term position is responsible for developing and implementing solutions to optimize production processes, improve plant safety, product quality, and production throughput.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement automation solutions using PLC/HMI programming, equipment commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement projects that drive business growth and efficiency.
- Design, develop, and maintain industrial machine automation systems.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues, applying creative problem-solving skills to resolve problems.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on project execution and best practices.
- Post-secondary engineering degree or engineering technician diploma in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferably in forest products manufacturing.
- Proficiency in FactoryTalk software and Rockwell Studio 5000 PLC programming.
- Experience with statistical process control and lean principles.
- A competitive salary of approximately $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
