We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Foodland. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our retail service establishment.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. Contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Contractor Management: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
- Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks.
- Physical Tasks: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced retail environment. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision and be able to adapt to changing priorities.
