About the Role

Appletree Shared Services Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients administratively, including scheduling, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare patients clinically, including hosting them into the exam room and performing triage.
  • Apply scripts, scenarios, and clinical skills as required.
  • Utilize our Electronic Medical Record system (EMR Advantage) to ensure accurate and efficient patient data management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment by cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms, foyers, and bathrooms.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures of the clinic, including inventory management and administrative duties.
  • Record and document patient information, as assigned.
  • Opportunity to train in specialty programs, including Travel Medicine, Allergy Testing, Foot Care, and Wellbaby, following a 3-month probationary review.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Undergraduate or bachelor's degree in health science, Kinesiology, General Science, or Arts is considered an asset.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a customer service environment, retail, or hospitality.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with other languages considered an asset.
  • Committed, reliable, and flexible with regards to scheduling of shifts, days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Flexible with regards to working at multiple clinic/office locations within Toronto & the GTA.
  • Passionate about personal learning, training, and ongoing development.
  • Permanently eligible to work in Canada, or have a Work Permit valid beyond 6 months.
