Job Summary
Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Admitting Clerk to join our team. As an Admitting Clerk, you will be responsible for registering patients, preparing pre-op blood work and forms, and booking appointments for our Pre-op clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare pre-op blood work and forms as required
- Book appointments for the Pre-op clinic
- Relieve the Switchboard as needed
Requirements
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Medical Terminology certification with a pass mark of 75% or greater
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including computers, fax machines, and photocopiers
- Typing speed of 35 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of Word, Windows, and spreadsheet programs
- Organizational abilities with initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
- Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation
- Good communication and customer service/public relation skills
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French)

- Previous experience in hospital clerical work
