Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the inter-professional healthcare team at William Osler Health System. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients in the Critical Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the Critical Care Unit, adhering to the nursing practice expectations set by Osler and regulatory practice standards.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a minimum of two years of experience in an acute medical/surgical unit or Critical Care setting.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification and Critical Care Certificate Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
  • Strong knowledge of patient and family-centered care, with the ability to promote a healthy work environment and practice excellent client safety guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritize patient care needs, make autonomous decisions, and promote a culture of safety and quality.
