About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UI/UX Design Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Global Wealth Management Technology team, you will be responsible for driving the strategy to enhance user interfaces and experiences across platforms using the latest design tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement user-centered design solutions to improve user experience and engagement.
  • Lead a team of UI/UX designers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Manage the intake and backlog of requests from multiple business lines and drive delivery on a value-based, priority-driven manner.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs and adhere to system and process constraints.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UI/UX design experience and 3+ years leading and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience delivering products in an Agile environment.
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale multi-year projects/programs.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and build a deep knowledge of their team's deliverables and design processes to craft a strong user experience.
  • Ability to build and execute on a strategic roadmap by ruthlessly prioritizing value-added work.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and be willing to lead by example.
  • Strong communication skills – will be speaking with Stakeholders, Business Partners, Operation Teams, and Developers (translating conversations into requirements).
