Department Manager

At Maxi, we're looking for a skilled Department Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a specific department within one of our stores. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the department meets or exceeds sales and profitability goals, while also training and developing department associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage departmental operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and customer service
- Train and develop department associates to provide excellent customer service and promote sales growth
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless store operations and achieve store-wide goals
- Manage departmental expenses and assist in budget preparation
- Communicate regularly with store management to ensure store-wide goals are being met
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
- Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
