Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and adjusting gasoline and diesel powered units, as well as performing maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the company service truck to provide diagnostic and repair services in the field.
- Inspect, repair, and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches.
- Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble units in various systems.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Class 5 Driver's License.
- Bi-weekly schedule with varying work hours, including up to 12 hours per day during construction season.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
- Must be physically able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds regularly.
