Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Specialist
Job Summary: Seaspan's Innovation team is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Specialist to lead the investigation and development of innovative manufacturing focusing on metal 3D printing processes within the shipbuilding industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initiatives that cover technical investigations, manufacturing process gaps and opportunity identification.
- Develop relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders to conduct pilot studies/projects.
- Maintain and expand on existing in-house additive manufacturing tools and capabilities.
- Leverage 3D modeling skills to create Additive Manufacturing content.
- Support 3D model and data development objectives of the team.
- Contribute to the grand vision of Innovation and the application of emerging technologies.
- Manage time and costs associated with work packages.
- Document and share activities through internal and external presentations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences or applied sciences.
- 2-3 years' experience working with Additive Manufacturing in a professional setting.
- Expertise and experience working with Additive Manufacturing technologies, software and processes.
- Proficient skills using CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of software such as Blender, Maya, and Autodesk 3DS Max.
