Porter Airlines is seeking a highly skilled Safety Assurance Professional to support the continuous improvement of safety at our organization. This role will be responsible for performing functions related to the Safety Management System and Company Audit Program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct System Quality Assurance Audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety-critical functions within our operation.
- Prepare audit plans, checklists, sampling plans, and other audit documentation related to internal audits.
- Develop detailed and evidence-based reports on all assigned audits.
- Liaise with departmental managers to identify and support the implementation of corrective actions to audit findings.
- Adhere to all processes and procedures outlined in Porter's SMS Manual and Audit Manual.
- Support the conduct of third-party audits of Porter as needed.
- Serve as a Safety Ambassador and resource for all employees.
- Maintain the confidentiality of organizational safety reporting systems and information acquired in the course of audit duties.
- Participate in periodic departmental safety meetings.
- Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
- Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
- Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.
- Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers.
- Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently.
- Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high-quality results consistent with the organization's standards.
- Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences.
- University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training, and/or related work experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada and IATA requirements for quality assurance.
- Previous experience working in the safety management system of a commercial airline.
- Previous experience as an aviation internal auditor.
- Familiarity with commercial flight operations, aircraft maintenance operations, or ground handling operations.
- Strong knowledge of safety management system requirements.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of auditing principles, procedures, and methods.
