Job Summary
Paper Excellence is seeking a skilled Log Yard Labourer to join our team. As a Log Yard Labourer, you will play a critical role in supporting our site operations by providing additional labor and undertaking strenuous tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site operations by providing additional labor and undertaking strenuous tasks.
- Regularly inspect equipment (such as cables, bunks, stakes, lift straps) to ensure they are defect-free and in good working order.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Cross-train in other areas as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in an industrial setting working around equipment and/or previous log yard work is beneficial.
- Previous training and certification for chainsaw operations is a benefit but not required.
- Understanding and ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines is crucial.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Valid driver's license is highly preferred.
- Valid first aid level 3 certificate or willingness to be put through the course will be given priority in hiring process.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to make it to and from work on a daily basis.
