Job Description

About the Position

Imperial Theatre is seeking an experienced and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our team. As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Management - Maintain detailed and accurate financial records for the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting - Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide them to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on a regular basis.
  • Payment and Invoice Processing - Process payments and invoices, ensuring that all expenses and income are properly recorded and coded.
  • Payroll Management - Manage the organization's payroll, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Bank Statement Reconciliation - Reconcile monthly bank statements and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Budgeting Assistance - Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors in creating and maintaining the organization's annual budget.
  • Audit Coordination - Work closely with external auditors to ensure that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date for the annual audit.
  • Compliance - Ensure that all financial records and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Verify and record transactions.
  • Order office supplies and manage inventory.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and employee information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in financial services.
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time-management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • A team player with a sense of humor and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
