About the Job

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Combined Lab & Radiology Technologist to join our Clinical Laboratory team at the Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine technological duties, maintaining standards, quality control, and scheduling patients in both the x-ray and lab departments. You will also be responsible for maintaining and working within the Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging procedures, such as x-rays and ultrasounds, according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and analyze laboratory specimens, using various techniques and equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training programs to stay current with new technologies and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of laboratory and radiology principles and practices. You will also require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A recognized combined laboratory and X-ray technologist/technician program and experience or program/curriculum-based instruction in transfusion medicine are essential requirements for this position.
