Purchasing Coordinator Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator will support the Purchasing Supervisor in purchasing goods and services that meet the company's quality standards, price, and delivery requirements. This role involves extensive use of the ERP system to view customer demand and manufacturing work order requirements, as well as ensuring appropriate component parts are delivered to the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze MRP system generated planned orders and issue purchase orders accordingly
• Establish, monitor, and manage relationships with key suppliers and internal functions
• Anticipate and communicate demand schedule to suppliers and escalate risks with vendors and internal teams
• Cost reductions of materials through benchmarking and negotiation of pricing, terms, and conditions
• Actively work with all departments to manage excess inventories and end of program analysis
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing, or similar
• Experience with overseas buying is required
• High level of planning, organizational, and implementation skills
• Solid analytical and technical problem-solving skills
