Job Title: Plant Associate

Stericycle is a leading provider of compliance-based solutions that protect people and brands, promote health and well-being, and safeguard the environment. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Associate to join our team in Gary, IN.

About the Role:

The Plant Associate will be responsible for ensuring all waste is unloaded from vehicles, decontaminated, and staged for scanning and processing. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration
  • Stage waste on conveyor systems or properly stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system
  • Scan waste into the Biotrack system for proper recordkeeping purposes
  • Load autoclave bins or incinerator hoppers with waste for processing
  • Decontaminate vehicles and cargo-carrying portions, reload assigned reusable tubs, and ensure cargo-carrying portions do not have free liquid on the floor
  • Address housekeeping issues, such as spills, dry floors, and debris, immediately

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 years of experience in a plant environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies, and procedures
  • Driver's license preferred
  • Forklift certification
