Role Overview:

Equitable Life of Canada is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Individual Insurance team. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products, ensuring the accuracy and quality of our underwriting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong underwriting expertise in medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors
  • Consistently provide high-quality work and manage daily volumes independently
  • Provide exceptional client experiences and comply with legislative requirements and consumer regulations
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
  • Comfortable in a dynamic work environment with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong reinsurance relationships and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
