Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team at Anishinabek Employment & Training Services. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies to promote our events and services.

About the Role:

This role involves working closely with our events team to develop and implement marketing plans, coordinate promotional activities, and ensure effective communication with clients and stakeholders. You will also be responsible for creating engaging content, managing social media, and analyzing data to measure campaign effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Marketing and Promotion:
    • Develop and implement effective marketing plans to promote events and services.
    • Coordinate promotional activities, including social media, email campaigns, and print materials.
    • Create engaging content, including blog posts, videos, and social media posts.
  • Client Support and Service Delivery:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with clients by actively listening and providing tailored solutions.
    • Conduct site visits and walkthroughs to showcase event spaces and discuss possibilities.
    • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Vendor Coordination:
    • Source and manage relationships with vendors such as caterers, decorators, as well as accommodation and entertainment providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet event requirements and quality standards.
    • Develop and maintain a vendor, venue, and talent database.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
    • Track expenses and provide regular budget updates to stakeholders.
    • Prepare an event plan and budget for each event.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely response to inquiries and requests.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Punctuality, Preparation, Accountability, and Initiative are crucial to success in this role, within our team and company.
    • Evaluate and improve processes focusing on efficiency, cultural appropriateness, and engaging content/activities.
    • Stay updated with the latest marketing trends and tools.
    • Be adaptable and prepared to meet varying needs as projects demand.
    • Actively prepare for and participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving efficiency.
    • The ability to speak an Indigenous or second Language is considered an asset.
    • Perform other duties as requested to support team and company objectives.
