Job Summary

The Healthcare Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered programs within Nova Scotia Health.

Working collaboratively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the manager will apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support patient experience/outcome.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and direction for assigned units to ensure goals and objectives are continually met.
  • Promoting and emphasizing people-centered care in partnership with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining an active human resource plan including recruitment, selection, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Preparing and analyzing relevant financial and clinical data, reporting trends, identifying where corrective action is required for budget variances, implementing changes as required, and evaluating the effectiveness of the changes.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication processes across clinical teams, geographically different sites, other disciplines, and stakeholders within Nova Scotia Health.
  • Managing process improvements for quality patient care and enhancing capacity.
  • Representing their discipline or service/program by active participation in meetings and committees.
  • Providing strategic and operational leadership that supports service delivery excellence and collaboration with other program areas.
  • Monitoring clinical service delivery on a day-to-day basis to ensure compliance with Nova Scotia Health policy and procedures and adherence to evidence-based practice, provincial standards, and accreditation requirements.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or equivalent health-related degree.
  • Master's degree an asset.
  • Current registration with NSCN or equivalent health-related regulatory body.
  • Minimum five years of recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resources, and financial management within a unionized environment.
  • Previous leadership/management experience an asset.
  • Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded healthcare system, nationally and internationally.
  • Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction.
  • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision-making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge.
  • Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the various professional scopes of practice.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare structures, environments, and services.
  • Demonstrates experience managing in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage human resources, financial resources, capital assets, and information.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
