Insurance Claims Investigator

Definity is seeking a highly skilled Claims Investigator to join our team in managing a portfolio of Intermediate Third Party Bodily Injury claims. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling complex claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate claims to determine liability and quantum, maintaining accurate and detailed file records.
- Engage with stakeholders, including underwriting and senior leadership, to effectively manage claims.
- Confirm policy coverages and attend mediations, pre-trials, and settlement initiatives as needed.
- Settle claims directly with Plaintiff's Counsel and direct Defence Counsel as required.
- Remain professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and vendors.
- Work well in a fast-paced operation and remain calm under pressure.
- Prioritize continuous learning and development, pushing the boundaries of your adjusting experience.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals and adapt to changing environments.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Requirements
- University degree, college diploma, or CIP designation.
- Minimum 3 years of claims handling experience.
- Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and adaptable to changing environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build engagement and culture.
- Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills.
- Bilingualism in English and French or other languages is an asset.
- Licensed in multiple provinces is an asset.
