Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist with Northern Health Authority, you will practice in accordance with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) standards and within a client-centered care model.
You will work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide ongoing respiratory care to clients with various illnesses or diseases.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing respiratory care interventions, assessments, and treatments;
- Teaching clients and others about respiratory health and treatment options;
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance client care;
- Maintaining and advancing your clinical competence through ongoing education and professional development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A graduation certificate from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program;
- Current certification with the CSRT and eligibility for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT);
- A valid BC Driver's License;
- Demonstrated ability to assess, treat, and teach clients with respiratory conditions;
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills;
- Familiarity with Meditech and Windows-based programs.
