About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Utility Arborist to join our team at Wright Canada Holdings Ltd. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal and trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign, instruct, and direct tree trimmers, equipment operators, and groundworkers
• Trim and/or remove trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or work from the ground using saws/pruners
• Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways
• Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment
• Ensure on-the-job safety practices are followed by all crew members
• Perform other job-related tasks as required or assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Certified Utility Arborist designation or ability to challenge BC skilled trades certification
• Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining, and removing
• Adheres to safety requirements and ensures crew members are working safely
• Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
• Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions
• Valid drivers' license
