About the Role

This position involves working closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient export operations, compliance with regulations, and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the end-to-end ocean export process, preparing and submitting export documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry in relevant systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end ocean export process for all shipments, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all export activities.
2. Collaborate with customers to obtain shipping instructions, documentation, and necessary information for customs clearance and export compliance.
3. Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and other service providers to secure bookings, monitor shipment status, and resolve any transportation-related issues.
4. Prepare and submit export documentation, including bill of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Coordinate with customs brokers and agents to facilitate smooth customs clearance and ensure adherence to export regulations and requirements.
6. Track and monitor shipment milestones, providing timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
7. Proactively address and resolve any operational issues or exceptions that may arise during the export process.
8. Ensure accurate and timely data entry in relevant systems and maintain proper documentation for record-keeping purposes.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and operations, to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction.
10. Stay updated on industry regulations, market trends, and best practices in ocean freight forwarding and customs compliance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain, logistics, or international trade is a plus.
2. Proven experience (2-3 years) in ocean freight forwarding, specifically in export operations.
3. In-depth knowledge of export regulations, customs compliance, and documentation requirements.
4. Strong understanding of ocean carriers, freight forwarding, and international trade practices.
5. Proficient in using MS Office applications. CW1 experience is an advantage.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address operational challenges and provide efficient solutions.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
