Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at EllisDon. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of accountants and ensuring the overall financial processes and procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of accountants and ensure overall financial processes and procedures are followed.
  • Be responsible for full-cycle accounting, including supporting the preparation of monthly billings and change order entry.
  • Read and understand project-related contracts and subcontractor documentation to ensure project setup procedures are aligned with contract terms and conditions.
  • Assist with year-end project specific margin reporting and attend internal project reviews.
  • Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to operational staff in the area.
  • Support with assembling client billing packages in accordance with approval procedures and processes.
  • Perform research on technical accounting matters to ensure project related accounting aligns with corporate standards.
  • Assist with financial system implementations and updates.
  • Assist with forecasting, project recoveries, and various other reconciliations.
  • Review cash flow data and cost forecast against project baseline financial targets.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience in a construction/manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Ability to correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area.
  • Well-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team.
  • Highly technical accountant with strong attention to detail and ability to offer process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
