Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at John Davidson School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their educational and personal needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational instruction and support to students, including assisting with technology access.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and participate in student learning team meetings.
  • Collect data to support student growth and IPP development.
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate with parents and learning team members to provide information and receive updates on student progress.
  • Facilitate the development of student self-esteem and independence through established programs and techniques.
  • Encourage positive student interactions and maintain student safety in the school and community.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary certificate or vocational certificate in child care/development or behaviour management, with demonstrated successful practicum experience.
  • Other equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in an inclusive learning environment is an asset.
  • Food Safe course and current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates are also assets.
