Job Summary:

As a Heavy Duty Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floor surfaces. You will also be required to collect and dispose of trash, operate carpet machines, and perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform floor care duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floor surfaces
  • Collect and dispose of trash in garbage containers on a regular basis
  • Operate carpet machines of various types
  • Spot clean walls, ceilings, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills
  • Wipe and sanitize all public utilities, such as public phones, furniture, and door handles
  • Follow pre-set policies, guidelines, and rules to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
  • Previous cleaning/janitorial experience an asset
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs plus on a regular basis
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Reliable
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Must live in the Ottawa/Gatineau region
