Early Childhood Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nurturing and engaging care to children aged 0-12 years, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Develop and implement child-centered programs that promote learning, exploration, and creativity.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver programs that meet the diverse needs of children and families.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum six months' experience working with young children.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health.
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours.
