The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled associate to join our Financial Services group in Montreal. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in providing expert legal services to clients engaged in complex financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating credit facilities, reviewing and advising on financial agreements, and identifying and mitigating risks associated with transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a wide range of financing transactions, including asset-based lending, acquisition financings, and cross-border loans.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating financial agreements, including credit agreements and security documents.
- Identifying and assessing risks associated with transactions and providing optimal risk mitigation remedies.
- Providing strategic guidance on regulatory compliance matters related to banking, corporate finance, and capital markets.
- Assisting in structuring and executing secured and unsecured loans for various entities.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with 4-6 years of experience in private practice or in-house, with a strong background in financial transactions. You will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be fully bilingual, and have a commitment to excellence. You will also be a consummate team player with strong communication and drafting skills.
