Job Title: Assistant Manager – Cross Border Tax

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our tax practice in Toronto or Vancouver. The successful candidate will have a strong background in taxation and a desire to take a lead role in managing tax engagements and contributing to the growth of the firm and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Tax Partners and other Senior staff on personal tax compliance and tax advisory engagements
  • Manage and coordinate tax planning and compliance services for individuals requiring US and Canadian income or estate tax filings
  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections and project budgets
  • Review assessments and correspond with the IRS, state authorities and CRA on various issues
  • Build and manage client relationships at a senior level; advise clients by delivering high quality tax service and advice
  • Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential
  • Support and mentor firm staff in respect of tax matters
  • Identify client service opportunities
Requirements:
  • Desire to pursue a CPA designation or a U.S. Enrolled Agent designation
  • Knowledge in CaseWare, TaxPrep, Bloomberg Tax, CCH AnswerConnect and Microsoft Office

Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 per annum.
