Job Summary

CANWIDE STEEL LTD. is seeking a skilled Steel Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for erecting and installing scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe and efficient construction processes.
  • Signal crane operators to position units according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Align, weld, or bolt units in place to ensure precise structural assembly.
  • Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
  • Unload and position steel units for hoisting and installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate construction.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physically demanding, requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in steel fabrication or a related field.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
Work Terms and Conditions
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • English language required.
