Early Childhood Educator Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for young children, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver a high-quality child-centered program that meets the needs of children aged 0-6 years.
  • Collaborate with a team of educators to create a supportive and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to children and their families, building positive relationships and keeping parents informed about their child's progress.
  • Engage in creative play and learning activities that promote children's development and make learning fun.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times, working independently and collaboratively with other educators.
  • Comply with provincial, municipal, and YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to child safety and well-being.
  • Participate in required training and professional development opportunities to maintain qualifications and certifications.
Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Educator Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or proof of registration in process.
  • Minimum of six months' experience working with young children, preferably in a licensed child care setting.
  • Training or experience in a field related to special needs or differing abilities/diagnosis.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health.
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round and adapt to changing weather conditions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours.
