Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering Business line in the Burnaby office. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers/designers on assigned projects, reviewing and performing electrical engineering detail design calculations, and performing engineering and electrical systems studies, design, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Technical Lead to a group of engineers/designers within assigned project.
- Review/Perform electrical engineering detail design calculations.
- Perform engineering and electrical systems studies, design, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
- Design and specify EIC equipment for operation at industrial, institutional and public sectors.
- Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, coordination, arc flash, ground grid, large MV motor starting).
- Prepare power systems designs such as single line diagrams, MCC layouts, feeders, panel wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, lighting, grounding, and power distribution.
- Perform site visits for scope clarification/definition, evaluation of system/equipment condition.
- Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including drawings, equipment and construction/installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.
- Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs.
- Direct and mentor junior staff. Provide technical advice and guidance.
- Assist in proposal preparation.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional engineering license (P.Eng.) in Canada. You should have at least 12 years of experience in designing electrical systems and leading teams for multiple projects, with experience in design engineering for industrial/mining sector required. You should also have strong knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, including Canadian electrical standards and codes, and experience with EIC, IEEE codes is a desired asset.
