Key Responsibilities- Cutting and Preparation: Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, and trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
- Meat Handling and Display: Wrap and package prepared meats, remove bones from meat, weigh meats for sale, and cut poultry into parts.
- Customer Service: Sell meats to customers, provide product information, and answer customer inquiries.
- Equipment Operation: Operate band saws, manual cutting utensils, power grinders, and slicing machines.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment, lift heavy objects, and stand for long periods.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Language: English language proficiency required.
- Recognized Employer: We are a recognized employer with a strong commitment to supporting newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship Programs: We offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
- Permanent Work Term: We offer a permanent work term with 40 hours of work per week.
